Job Summary

The Educational Outreach Coordinator supports regional engagement, workforce development, and community partnership efforts by providing operational support across the Educational Outreach unit within Academic Affairs at Middle Georgia State University. This position organizes outreach activities, including events and public programming; engages campus partners and external stakeholders; produces communication and marketing materials; and supports the unit¿s use of CRM and registration platforms to maintain accurate and current partner, participant, and community records.

The position supports ongoing partnerships with regional employers, community organizations, and external stakeholders by maintaining relationships and coordinating outreach activities, and routes opportunities to the appropriate institutional units as they arise. In doing so, the Coordinator supports Educational Outreach initiatives related to community engagement, workforce development, and professional learning opportunities across Middle Georgia.

Responsibilities

Outreach Events and Programming (30%) -
Organize and coordinate logistics for outreach events, community programming, public lectures, partner meetings, and engagement activities hosted or supported by the Educational Outreach unit, providing operational support including communications, materials preparation, registration, scheduling, and follow-up.
Track event attendance and organizational affiliations of participants to inform future programming and partnership opportunities.
Assist with coordinating outreach initiatives that support professional development programming, workforce education, and community engagement efforts across MGA's service region.

Campus and External Partner Engagement (20%) -
Coordinate with employers and workforce development organizations to facilitate awareness of relevant programming, track engagement, and support timely follow-up on behalf of the unit, while maintaining awareness of partner needs, program interests, and organizational changes to keep engagement records current and inform future outreach planning.
Support partnerships that connect external organizations with academic programs, professional development offerings, and workforce education opportunities at MGA, routing degree-seeking recruitment opportunities to the Office of Admissions and connecting other inquiries to the other MGA units as they arise.
Communicate and coordinate with relevant campus units at MGA, including Enrollment Management, Advancement, Government and Community Relations, the Center for Career and Leadership Development, and academic departments.

Communication and Marketing (15%) -
Create and produce communication and marketing materials for the Educational Outreach unit including digital content, print materials, event promotions, and partner communications.
Utilize design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite or comparable tools to produce professional, brand-aligned materials that support outreach programming and community engagement initiatives.
Develop and distribute communications to external partners, community contacts, and stakeholders, and support the development of program-specific marketing content for initiatives across the Educational Outreach unit, in coordination with institutional branding standards, as directed.

CRM, Registration, and Data Administration (25%) -
Maintain and support the unit's use of CRM platforms and program registration systems, ensuring accurate, current, and accessible records of partner contacts, community contact information, outreach activity, registration history, and engagement tracking.
Track and document outreach activities and partnership engagement to support reporting and analysis for the unit's continuous improvement efforts.
Assist in preparing semi-annual outcomes reports on outreach activities and partnership engagement as required by institutional leadership.

Administrative Support (10%)-
Provide general administrative and operational support to the Educational Outreach unit as directed.
Assist with maintaining outreach records, preparing reports, coordinating follow-up activities, and managing scheduling, correspondence, and logistical coordination related to partner engagement and outreach initiatives.
Assist in monitoring outreach-related budget lines as directed.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university required.

Other Required Qualifications
Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.

Required Experience
Minimum of two years of professional experience in outreach, communications, event coordination, higher education, workforce development, or related areas.

Preferred Qualifications

Additional Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with higher education organizational structures, including the distinctions between academic affairs, enrollment management, advancement, and student affairs functions.
Familiarity with MGA's academic programs, campuses, and regional service area.

Preferred Educational Qualifications
Master's degree in a related field.

Preferred Experience
Experience in higher education external relations, enrollment management, continuing education, or workforce development.
Experience working with CRM or specialized enrollment/registration databases in relationship management, customer service, or outreach context.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends as community and partner engagement requires.
Ability to review outreach and engagement data to support reporting and identify trends or areas for improvement.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with University staff, community leaders, and external stakeholders.
Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently and complete various projects within designated deadlines.
Strong relationship-building, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to represent MGA credibly and professionally in external settings.
Comfort working with CRM and registration data systems to manage and document partner relationships, participant tracking, and engagement activity.
Excellent written and oral communication and organizational skills.
Ability to travel occasionally across MGA¿s service region.
