Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm; occasional evening/weekend hours as needed
Job Summary: The Medical Provider Credentialing Supervisor oversees credentialing, privileging, recredentialing, payer enrollment, licensure tracking, and provider onboarding activities. Ensures timely and compliant completion of credentialing activities for providers supporting the College of Community Health Sciences (CCHS), Capstone Health Services Foundation (CHSF), and affiliated clinical operations. Provides direct supervision and delegates work to credentialing and enrollment staff.
Additional Department Summary: Serves as operational resource for provider credentialing and enrollment matters. Coordinates with departments, clinical leadership, Compliance, Human Resources, Finance, Legal, payers, hospital partners, and external agencies, and leads process improvement initiatives to reduce onboarding delays, strengthen internal controls, and ensure compliance with institutional, payer, state, federal, and accreditation requirements.
Required Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED and eight (8) years of medical provider enrollment experience; OR associate's degree and six (6) years of medical provider enrollment experience; OR bachelor's degree and four (4) years of medical provider enrollment experience; OR master's degree and some medical provider enrollment experience.
Skills and Knowledge: Working knowledge of provider credentialing, privileging, payer enrollment, licensure tracking, and provider onboarding processes. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines. Ability to analyze workflows, identify process gaps, and implement practical improvements. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex requirements to stakeholders. High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance.
Preferred Qualifications: Certification or coursework related to provider credentialing, medical staff services, compliance, or healthcare administration, if applicable. Previous supervisory or team leadership experience. Experience working with academic medical centers, physician practice plans, hospital partners, or multi-specialty clinical operations. Experience with credentialing software, payer portals, provider enrollment systems, electronic health records, HR systems, or financial systems.
