Department: Health Services, Medical Imaging Program Assistant Academics II HV-CS-9680 To be considered an applicant for this position you must meet the minimum qualifications as stated in this announcement. Must complete a professional reference check and background check. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restrictions. RESIDENCY REQUIREMENTS: Candidates must have been legal residents of New York State for at least FOUR months immediately preceding the date of the test. Pursuant to subdivision 4a of Sec. 23 of the Civil Service Law, preference may be given to successful candidates who have been legal residents of the municipality to which the appointment is to be made for at least FOUR months preceding the date of the written test. This is a provisional appointment. Selected candidate will need to sit, pass and be eligible on the next available Rensselaer County Civil Service Exam for Program Assistant Academics II to be considered for permanent appointment. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered two (2) year College or University with an Associate’s Degree and two (2) years of work experience in an office or customer service setting. One (1) year Permanent or Contingent Permanent competitive class status in the position of Program Assistant, Academics I in Hudson Valley Community College. DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES: The Program Assistant, Academics II will report to the Department Chairperson of Medical Imaging and perform the following duties:- Under the direct supervision of the Department Chairs or designee, provides comprehensive clerical assistance to students, faculty and administration of the Department.
- Provides reception services, basic policy direction and referral to other sources of assistance.
- Assists the Department Chair with budget preparation, gathering and organizing data.
- Develop data for assessment efforts.
- Develops and monitors office protocols for efficient operation.
- Devises and maintains electronic file structures.
- Assists faculty with formatting and reproduction of course material corresponds with external agencies related to departmental functions.
- Utilizes MS Office or other office software to design, develop and produce required documents and records.
- Review the office for a neat and professional appearance
- Participate in all department meetings and contribute to the Human Services Curriculum Management Plan.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
