When Do We Typically Hire?
Hiring needs vary by department and are based on enrollment, staffing needs,funding, and available positions. However, many college positions may haveincreased hiring activity around the start of a semester:

Spring 2027: Classes begin January 19. We start posting positions as early asSeptember. 
Summer 2027: Classes begin May 24, with additional summer sessions beginningthroughout June. We start posting openings in April. 
Fall 2027: We begin posting for the Fall as early as May. 
Because hiring needs can change throughout the year, we recommend checking ourcurrent job openings regularly rather than waiting for a specific hiringseason.

What is an Adjunct?
Adjunct faculty members are part-time instructors,responsible providing instruction and performing student learning assessments.

Responsibilities include:  

  • Creating course materials, including lessons, assignments, activities, and assessments.
  • Submitting attendance, grades, and other required information by college deadlines.
  • Using classroom and instructional technology effectively to support student learning, when applicable.
  • Working with colleagues to support students and meet the needs of the community.
  • Maintaining a professional and respectful learning environment through strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Minimum Experience

Master'sdegree AND/OR 18 graduatehours in the selected field of study. 

Preferred Experience
Teaching at a Community College or Vocational/Technical institution.

Teaching traditionally underserved populations.

Incorporating technology and multimedia applications into teaching and learningprocess.

Teaching in multiple instructional modalities.

Utilizing Learning Management Systems.

Minimum semester pay per course: $3,498
