Job Summary

Join our fast-paced health center team and make a meaningful difference in the student experience! We’re seeking an organized, compassionate, and customer-focused professional to support daily medical office operations, including answering phones and emails, scheduling appointments, greeting students and visitors, preparing forms, managing schedules, and providing administrative support to the health center team.

Compensation Package: $31,830.00 (9-month), plus comprehensive benefits, including:

  • Schedule - Monday – Friday 37.5 hours per week, some evening hours, no weekends or holidays
  • Paid Time Off – Generous vacation & sick leave banks, and the University is closed the last week of December for winter break.
  • Medical insurance – Low bi-weekly premium for medical, dental and vision benefits, with coverage starting on the first day of employment for employee and all dependents.
  • Group life insurance – Equal to annual salary (up to $40,000) at no cost to the employee. Additional coverage is available for purchase at low rates.
  • Long Term Disability Insurance – Available for purchase at low rates with either a 90 or 180-day waiting period.

  • Minimum Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of experience in a fast-paced office setting or facility.
  • Associate degree or post-secondary certification in human services, business, or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and the ability to learn new software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, demonstrated through your cover letter.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience as a patient-facing medical secretary in a hospital, primary care office, or ambulatory care setting.
  • 1–3 years of experience in a mental health practice or healthcare facility.
  • Associate degree in Medical Records, Medical Assisting, or a related field.
  • Experience working with individuals ages 17–24.

    The starting salary for this position is $31,830.00, based on the AFSCME Collective Bargaining Agreement. This is a 9-month position that aligns to the Academic Year.

    Comprising five colleges - Visual and Performing Arts, Business, Education, Liberal Arts and Sciences, and Graduate Studies - Kutztown University offers a diverse range of excellent academic programs to prepare individuals for successful careers.

    Located on 325 acres in Kutztown (population:4,500), the university is 20 miles from both Reading and Allentown, 90 miles from Philadelphia and 100 miles from New York City. LVI International Airport is 25 minutes from campus. The campus is in a beautiful rural Pennsylvania Dutch community, an easy walk from the borough of Kutztown which has ample stores and shops to meet the needs of students.

    Currently, 10,193 students are enrolled at the university from 26 states and 51 nations. About half of the undergraduates live in residence halls; the rest live at home or in nearby apartments. A well-rounded program of athletic, cultural, and social events and activities satisfies nearly every taste.

    We have 330 full-time faculty members and boast a favorable 19:1 student-faculty ratio. Sixty percent of our faculty have doctorates, 39% earned master's degrees and 1% have bachelor's degrees.

    Kutztown University is accredited by Middle States Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools (MSACS); professionally by the National Council of Teacher Education and National League of Nursing.
