Location

Our West Campus is located at 2400 Gillionville Road, Albany, GA 31707. Our East Campus is located at 504 College Drive, Albany, GA 31705. The Human Resources office for both campuses is located on the West Campus.

Job Summary

The Admissions Counselor is responsible for recruiting and enrolling prospective students on behalf of the university. The Admissions Counselor represents Albany State University at college fairs and through individual prospective student visits, evaluates admission applications in accordance with University System of Georgia and institutional standards, and ensures the integrity of student records in the Banner system through regular audits and timely updates.

Responsibilities

Recruit students who meet admissions requirements to the university.

Ensure proper documentation and verification of prospective students and applicants in Banner.

Collaborate with staff team members to promote recruitment and orientation of students.

Works with other college departments to support implementation of university recruitment and admissions plans as well as to support institutional goals for retention, attrition and student advancement.

Enters student information into Banner, XAP, and potentially any other tool/product used to manage and track student enrollment.

Takes incoming/outgoing calls.

Verifies receipt of documents for prospective students.

Communicate with other members of the recruitment and admissions staff to coordinate decision making.

Performs admissions processes.

Produce information packages for admitted students.

Follows up on events and procedures.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree

At least two years of experience in using Microsoft Office Suite (Office, Excel, PowerPoint and Access)

ERP/CRMU, Social Networking, and a general understanding of other software tools used during recruitment, admissions and matriculation

Excellent interpersonal relations and communication skills

At least one year of experience working with and building strong relationships with both internal departments and external community organizations

At least one year of experience analyzing and problem-solving

Preferred Qualifications

At least two years of customer service experience preferred

Experience in Ellucian Banner.

Proposed Salary

Salary is commensurate with education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Proficient with CRM systems (e.g., Banner 9) and MS Office Suite.Familiarity with higher education admissions, student recruitment, and holistic application review.Excellent planning skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.Commitment to student service and maintaining confidentiality.Exceptional public speaking and interpersonal skills, with the ability to represent the university.USG Core Values
