Job Details

The Operations Coordinator provides the operational infrastructure that enables the Berry Center for Integrity in Leadership (BCIL) to carry out its partnerships, grants, convenings, programs, and institutional initiatives reliably and effectively. Reporting to the Sims Director, the Coordinator works across the BCIL team and with campus and external partners to translate approved priorities into well-organized plans, schedules, logistics, communications, financial processes, and follow-through.

This position is well suited for a collaborative, self-directed professional who enjoys coordinating complex work, improving operating systems, working with students and partners, and helping programs move successfully from planning through implementation and closeout.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the operational implementation of BCIL partnerships, grants, convenings, programs, institutional initiatives, and special projects, including timelines, schedules, responsibilities, resources, and follow-through.
  • Contribute actively to BCIL's professional team by bringing initiative, sound judgment, and ideas to team planning, problem-solving, and continuous improvement; help strengthen the Center's operating practices, participant experience, and overall effectiveness.
  • Participate directly in BCIL initiatives and, as assigned, support, co-facilitate, or lead selected program components under the direction of the appropriate professional lead, providing opportunities for increasing contribution as experience and capability develop.
  • Coordinate lectures, workshops, retreats, mentoring activities, student programs, faculty and staff development programs, and other events, including registration, facilities, catering, travel, accommodations, audiovisual needs, materials, and participant communication.
  • Maintain project plans, calendars, status trackers, records, workflows, templates, and other operating systems that support reliable execution across multiple concurrent initiatives.
  • Administer purchasing, invoices, reimbursements, travel expenses, contracts, purchase-card activity, and budget-tracking processes in accordance with College policies and approved budgets.
  • Support assessment, grant reporting, donor stewardship, annual reporting, and program review by maintaining accurate participation, financial, and activity records.

Work Environment

The Operations Coordinator works within a small, collaborative professional team and routinely coordinates work across organizational boundaries. The position requires a high degree of organization, professional judgment, follow-through, and attention to detail. Occasional evening or weekend work is required in support of programs and events.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree required; minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience in program operations, project coordination, event or program administration, or comparable operational work.

  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple projects, programs, or events involving schedules, deadlines, participants, resources, and multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational, project-management, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage concurrent responsibilities and changing priorities.
  • Experience supporting budgets, purchasing, reimbursements, financial records, or comparable administrative processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and professionally with students, faculty, staff, institutional leaders, external partners, vendors, and community members.
