Educational and Experience Requirement:Associates degree in a related field. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Three years relevant administrative assistant experience or experience in a related field. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.
Nature & Purpose of Position:Performs advanced administrative assistant duties for the Department of Engineering Technology
Primary Responsibilities:Performs advanced administrative assistant duties. Provides departmental or University information to students, departments, and staff. Assists in developing policies and interprets policies and procedures. Schedules appointments and activities. Compiles, tracks, and reviews data and reports. Attends meetings and takes notes. Prepares, reviews, revises, and distributes documents and correspondence. Orders and maintains supply inventory. Handles P-Card purchases and monitors expenses. Assists with responsibilities related to the hiring of new faculty, staff, and students. Performs other duties as assigned.
Other Specifications:Requires a general knowledge of standard office functions. Requires knowledge of procedures and practices. Must be able to use standard office software. Must be able to apply policies and procedures and solve routine problems of a repetitive nature. Alertness and careful attention are required to prevent injury to others. Use of computer, copier, printer, typewriter, and other standard equipment common to most offices. Proficiency in the use of English, spelling, and business mathematics. May spend up to but not limited to 25% of time on important contacts which involve the reception of, or providing information, to department heads, key executives, public officials, and distinguished visitors. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends when assistance is required at specific events.
