The Department of Patient Experience is responsible for monitoring and enhancing the patient experience which includes complaint resolution, information desk functions, managing the Volunteer and Housing programs, and service quality improvement initiatives within the organization. In addition, the department is responsible for meeting Joint Commission standards related to patient rights and organizational ethics and CMS regulation guidelines related to the complaint process.
Position Summary
The Volunteer Program Senior Coordinator is responsible for the daily coordination and management of the college, and adult volunteer programs at The James, including satellite facilities. The Coordinator provides coordination and training for all new volunteers and ensures appropriate coverage. The Coordinator also assists the Associate Director in monitoring and supporting existing programs, planning, development and implementation of new volunteer programs, recognition events, as well as volunteer promotion and recruitment within the Medical Center and the community.
Qualifications
For Hire: Bachelor's Degree in business, communications, or related area. Master’s degree in health care preferred. Minimum 4 years professional experience, preferably in the health care industry or related field. Ability to work in matrix environment and provide team leadership across reporting and departmental lines.
Ongoing: Continuing education credits through OHA and other seminars as appropriate.
Additional Information:This role has several evening and weekend shifts related to volunteer training sessions and volunteer recognition events. This role also visits outpatient locations (MMT, SSCBC, James Outpatient Care, Mill Run, OPCE and East Hospital) to shadow volunteers, meet with site contacts and deliver items to volunteers (badges, meal passes, recognition gifts).
