Minimum Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent and 2 years of related experience
Position Summary:This is skilled technical work involving operating, installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing components of the campus security system. Work involves construction, modification, maintenance, and repair of a variety of electronic devices used for instructional purposes. Work also includes the installation and maintenance of electrical circuits, equipment, and intercommunication systems. Work is carried out with considerable technical independence under general supervision of a superior. Work is reviewed in progress and by observation of results.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies:- Can troubleshoot and repair electronic and electric circuits.
- Understand electric circuit diagrams, blueprints, and equipment manuals and use same to troubleshoot system problems, make repairs, and install new components.
- Use electric diagnostic test equipment and tools of the electric and electronics trade.
- Understand and apply standard trade practices in performing work.
- Can use computers to perform search functions, standard work processing, spreadsheet applications, and other typical office PC skills.
- Lift up to 75 lbs.
- Stand, walk, climb stairs, stoop, bend, squat, kneel, and work with hands above head.
- Work from a standard and/or extended ladder.
- Driving as needed to perform job duties.
