Description:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversees day-to-day logistical operations of the Writing Center.
  • Manages personnel paperwork for Writing Center tutoring staff, including weekly timesheet approval and sick time entries.
  • Oversees the writing support scheduling system and email accounts to coordinate consultations, online tutoring, and workshops.
  • Advises appropriate Writing Center and/or department leadership on budgeting status and needs.
  • Coordinates various writing support programs and activities, including write-in, workshops, class visits, orientations, etc., including related social media posting.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in an appropriate field, such as Writing Studies, Rhetoric, English, Education, or other related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of related experience.
  • Ability to manage a wide range of duties and assignments.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and strong communication abilities.
  • Collaborative orientation with the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Ability to work occasionally in the evenings or on weekends.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education in Writing Studies or Rhetoric.
  • Knowledge of Google applications (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides).
  • Prior writing center experience or experience as a peer tutor.
