Work Schedule, Hours per week: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm - Occasional nights as necessary, 40 hours per week

Position Summary: The Admissions Recruiter supports JCCC's mission and enrollment goals by recruiting, engaging, and coaching prospective and concurrent enrollment students throughout their college exploration and enrollment journey. This position builds relationships with prospective students, families, high schools, counselors, and community partners to promote JCCC's academic programs, resources, and educational opportunities. The Admissions Recruiter provides individualized guidance on admissions, enrollment, financial aid, academic pathways, and student support services while helping students navigate academic and administrative processes and overcome barriers to enrollment. Through territory management, community outreach, presentations, recruitment events, and strategic use of enrollment technologies, this position contributes to enrollment growth, student success, and a positive prospective student experience.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or an associate degree and two years of directly related professional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree.
  • Valid Driver's License and an acceptable driving record.
  • Must have physical ability to sit for extended periods while driving and be able to lift, carry, push, and pull event materials as needed.




Position details include but are not limited to:

  • Recruitment & Outreach:
    • Represent the college at a variety of off-campus recruiting events, including high school visits, college and career fairs, and other community events.
    • Promote the features, benefits, and outcomes of academic programs to prospective students and families.
    • Manage a recruitment territory through strategic outreach, travel, and relationship-building activities designed to support enrollment goals.
    • Assist in planning and executing on-campus visits, presentations, and recruitment events.
    • Engage prospective students throughout the admissions funnel via individualized outreach, follow-up communication, and relationship management designed to support inquiry, application, and enrollment conversion.
  • Student Advising & Enrollment Support:
    • Guide prospective students and families through the college decision and enrollment process, providing information on academic programs, financial aid, transfer pathways, student resources, campus life, and the value of a community college education.
    • Provide comprehensive coaching and support to concurrent enrollment students.
    • Develop academic plans that support each student's goals and guide students through administrative processes including admission, onboarding, and enrollment.
    • Provide expertise on enrollment requirements such as multiple measures placement and prerequisite requirements.
    • Provide individualized guidance utilizing program knowledge and technology system to support concurrent enrollment students through high school graduation.
    • Clarify students' educational goals, assess onboarding needs, and make appropriate referrals.
    • Serves as the expert for prospective students on college policy relating to admission and enrollment.
  • Data Management, CRM & Compliance:
    • Utilize Element451 CRM to manage prospective student records, document recruitment activities, and support communications throughout the admissions process.
    • Maintain accurate records of prospective student interactions, outreach efforts, and recruitment activities while monitoring engagement and enrollment progression.
    • Leverage CRM tools, enrollment data, and reporting to coordinate targeted communications, support territory management, and advance enrollment goals.
    • Responsible for upholding federal and state requirements including FERPA and residency state statutes.
  • Partnership & Community Engagement:
    • Cultivate and maintain relationships with high schools, community organizations, college access partners, counselors, students, families, and other stakeholders to strengthen partnerships and support enrollment initiatives.
    • Establish a strong community presence through ongoing outreach, communication, and engagement with prospective students, school personnel, and community partners.
    • Collaborate with campus stakeholders to connect students with institutional resources and develop programs, outreach initiatives, and engagement opportunities that support student success and enrollment growth.
  • Marketing & Administrative Management:
    • Contribute to the development of marketing materials that align with strategic enrollment and marketing communication plans.
    • Maintain and manage a travel schedule and budget and submit weekly reports.
  • Other duties as assigned:

With more than 34,000 students enrolled in credit and continuing education classes each semester, Johnson County Community College is the state's third largest institution of higher education and the largest of its 19 community colleges.

JCCC offers a full range of undergraduate credit courses that form the first two years of most college curricula. The college has more than 100 transfer agreements with area colleges and universities that ensure admittance to specific programs such as business, engineering and education. JCCC students are able to begin their first two years of a four-year degree program here and complete that degree on schedule.

In addition, more than 50 one- and two-year career and certificate programs prepare students to enter the job market in high-employment fields. The college maintains extensive student support services such as computer labs, math labs, a writing center and a learning center.

JCCC’s continuing education program is the largest, most comprehensive in the Kansas City area. Through the Center for Business and Technology, participants can take courses in management and computer application or seminars and workshops that lead to professional certification and licensure. Personal enrichment classes, on topics ranging from gardening to money management, are also offered, while nationally and internationally performing and visual artists appear in the performance spaces and Gallery of Art in JCCC’s Carlsen Center.

The campus, centrally located in the county on 234 acres, opened in 1972. There are 18 major buildings on campus. Currently under construction are the Regnier Center and the Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art.

JCCC’s full-time faculty and staff numbers about 875. Another 1,800 people work as adjunct faculty or part-time staff. Most faculty members have master’s degrees, and many have or are earning doctorates.

JCCC returns about $2.70 to the community for every tax dollar it collects. The college's total tangible economic impact on the community is more than $182 million annually.
