Job OverviewThe College of Nursing at the University of Cincinnati is seeking a collaborative proven professional to join our graduate program team in serving as a Program Coordinator (Clinical Site Coordinator). The chosen candidate will serve as the primary liaison with clinical preceptors, clinical site administration, and students currently enrolled in our graduate nursing program. The Program Coordinator facilitates placement of graduate nursing students in clinical sites and the vetting of clinical site contracts (as warranted). Other responsibilities include establishing and maintaining clinical affiliation agreements and managing documentation associated with the precepted clinical experience. Active listening, detail orientation, proactive problem solving, and critical thinking are important skills necessary for the position of Program Coordinator. They should demonstrate good judgment when making decisions and assist with special projects as needed. They should be proficient in Microsoft Suite and have established comfort with learning about and using new technology platforms.
The graduate program works collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, preceptors and clinical sites to achieve set goals. The ideal candidate must be a valuable contributor to the team, be able to work independently, solve problems and pay attention to detail.
This position offers flexibility for a hybrid work schedule for applicants with residence within OH/IN/KY after all applicable training, onboarding and approval of all requirements have been completed. Essential Functions- Interact with staff, faculty, external agencies and other university departmentsGather and interpret data to inform clinical planning and placement effortsDevelop and implement strategies to educate and support stakeholders involved in graduate clinical experiencesSupport the graduate student experience through proactive outreach and exemplary customer serviceInteract with students, staff, faculty, other university departments, preceptors, and clinical partnersAppropriately vet agreements and complete documentation required of our clinical partners in support of clinical placementsUtilize critical thinking and detail orientation skills to manage clinical experiences of assigned student populationsContribute to the overall initiatives of the graduate clinical coordination teamMay provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.)Perform related duties based on departmental need. - Bachelor's Degree.Five (5) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.
One (1) year of program coordination experience.
