General Statement of Job

The Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management provides strategic and operational leadership for the College's enrollment pipeline and supports enrollment growth across multiple student populations, including first-time-in-college, transfer, returning, adult, and continuing students. The position leads coordinated strategies designed to strengthen student recruitment, engagement, conversion, registration, and re-enrollment across the College's service area. The AVP leads the integration of recruitment, enrollment services, and enrollment systems into a unified, data-informed model that prioritizes high-impact engagement strategies, targeted outreach, timely student follow-up, and removal of barriers throughout the enrollment process. This position works in close alignment with institutionally defined enrollment initiatives, including Promise-based programs and other enrollment growth and re-engagement strategies, to ensure coordinated execution across outreach, communication, and conversion efforts. The AVP establishes clear enrollment targets, monitors funnel performance across student populations, and ensures consistent, accountable execution across enrollment-facing units to support strategic enrollment goals.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Lead and manage the College's enrollment funnel, including application generation, engagement, conversion, and registration outcomes.
  • Develop and execute strategies to improve enrollment and yield rates across priority student populations, including first-time-in-college, transfer, returning, adult, and continuing students, through targeted outreach, engagement, follow-up, and re-engagement strategies.
  • Oversee and scale high-impact enrollment and re-engagement models, including All Access events, One Stop models, community-based enrollment initiatives, and other strategies designed to increase student access, enrollment, and re-enrollment.
  • Align recruitment, enrollment services, and enrollment systems to support a coordinated, student-centered enrollment experience.
  • Oversee Promise programs leadership to ensure alignment between outreach efforts and enrollment conversion strategies.
  • Establish and monitor key enrollment performance metrics, including application-to-registration conversion rates, event yield, and enrollment velocity.
  • Lead the use of technology platforms (e.g., CRM, texting systems, event management tools) to support proactive student engagement and timely follow-up.
  • Ensure consistent execution and accountability across enrollment units, including Enrollment Services and Enrollment Systems.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Communications to support targeted enrollment campaigns tied to measurable conversion outcomes.
  • Identify and remove operational barriers within the enrollment process to improve efficiency and student progression from application to registration.
  • Monitor enrollment trends and produce regular reports to inform institutional strategy and executive decision-making.
  • Ensure enrollment-related processes comply with institutional policies, accreditation standards, and state and federal regulations.
  • Serves as Campus Security Authority.
  • Serve as a liaison with external partners, including school districts, colleges and universities, community organizations, municipalities, workforce organizations, and other regional partners, to strengthen enrollment pipelines and expand student access pathways.
  • Represent the College in relevant meetings, initiatives, and partnerships related to enrollment growth and access.

Required Education and Experience

  • Master's degree from an accredited institution in Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five years of progressively responsible management experience in higher education administration, with a focus on enrollment management, recruitment, student services, student access, or a related area.
  • Experience designing and implementing large-scale, event-based enrollment models that result in measurable enrollment outcomes.

  • Excellent oral, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and internet research skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects that require demonstrated leadership ability.
  • Ability to analyze situations quickly and objectively and to determine proper course of action.
  • Ability to adapt to constant change and periods of fast-paced, high-intensity work situations.
  • Ability to work evenings and/or weekends as needed; willing to travel throughout the college district using own means of reliable transportation.

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, THECB and The Commission on Colleges and Universities regulations, governmental regulations, and Legislative policy.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to inquiries from executive management, faculty, staff, students, public groups, regulatory agencies, and Boards of Trustees.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Checks, Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations

  • Security Sensitive position: all applicants are subject to a criminal background check under South Texas College policy.
  • In addition, subject to a federal background check.
  • Must have or qualify for a valid Texas driver's license and proof of liability insurance.

Physical Requirements
