Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver workshops, presentations, and engagement initiatives for diverse student audiences. Experience collaborating with faculty, staff, and campus partners across multiple colleges or departments. Excellent written and verbal communication, and organizational skills.
Job Description:The Student Success Advisor serves as a key member of the Office of Undergraduate Education and Student Success (UESS), supporting students as they explore academic pathways, transition into degree-granting majors, and develop strategies for academic success. This position provides centralized advising for exploratory students, coordinates student success initiatives, and collaborates with campus partners to enhance retention, persistence, and engagement. The Student Success Advisor also supports UF Preview operations and develops programs that help students make informed academic and career decisions.
Responsibilities include:
Expected Salary:$60,000 - $65,000 annually; commensurate with education and experience.
Required Qualifications:Master's degree and three years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in academic advising, student success, student development, or related student support services within a higher education setting. Strong understanding of student success principles, academic planning, and the factors that contribute to student retention and persistence. Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver workshops, presentations, and engagement initiatives for diverse student audiences. Experience collaborating with faculty, staff, and campus partners across multiple colleges or departments. Excellent written and verbal communication, and organizational skills.
Preferred:· Experience advising exploratory, undecided, or undergraduate students during academic program transitions.
· Experience developing and facilitating student success, academic exploration, or first-year programming.
· Knowledge of academic planning, retention, and student success best practices.
· Experience supporting orientation advising.
· Experience using advising technologies, student information systems, and data to inform student support strategies.
· Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with academic and student affairs partners across a decentralized environment.
