Position Overview


As a member of the Center for Corporate and Community Development, and under the supervision of the Executive Director, assist in preparing for corporate training classes. Run errands and deliver items for the department. Help set up and run job training classes for local companies. Perform office work such as filing, copying, answering phones, and provide administrative support by reviewing and editing documents, power point files, and spreadsheets.

This position is fast-paced and requires excellent customer service, time management, and problem-solving skills. This position requires regular interaction with a diverse range of instructors, students, and business partners; therefore a good-natured personality and calm disposition are a must.

This position is 100% in-person. Remote work is not allowed.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities


  • Provide support in running training events by providing assistance such as:
    • Making copies, helping shop for food and supplies, setting up classrooms, and cleaning and restocking break areas.
    • Check that supplies are stocked, equipment works, and rooms are in good condition.
    • Help plan menus and buy food and supplies for training groups. Help with office tasks that support training and behind-the-scenes operations
    • Helping put together class materials for instructors
    • Transport registration forms, evaluations, and other paperwork between locations as directed.
    • Lifting and moving boxes of supplies, food, and materials (30-40 pounds).
  • Follow safety rules, help keep the work area safe, and follow set procedures during emergencies.
  • Relay messages between staff, instructors, and students, and send questions to the right person.
  • Follow College and Center policies and standards for customer service and professional behavior.
  • Keep a professional attitude and neat appearance.
  • Assist in entering and tracking credit card charges and account statements in the credit card tracking system.
  • Assist in gathering information and data for department reports.
  • Assist in keeping the department calendar up to date.
  • Enter data and help prepare attendance reports.
  • Assist in entering and tracking purchase requests.
  • Assist in creating and sending department updates and reminders.
  • Assist in keeping track of project deadlines.
  • Assist with special events, workshops, and attend college or community events when asked.


Additional Duties & Responsibilities


  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Minimum Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities


  • High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)
  • Basic computer skills, including email, Microsoft Word, and Excel
  • Friendly, polite, and enjoys helping a variety of people
  • Must have a valid driver's license, safe driving record, and reliable transportation
  • Must be able to travel regularly within the Lee College Service area, stores, and training sites
  • Must be able to lift and carry thirty to forty (30-40) pounds on a regular basis, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and push carts for long periods
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Able to stay organized and pay attention to details
  • Able to handle several tasks at once and stay calm and professional when busy
  • Able to follow directions and work individually once a task is assigned
  • Able to work well as part of a team.
  • Ability to keep information private and use good judgement.
  • Must be available to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed; Work days often start before 7:00 a.m.


Preferred:

  • Customer service experience
  • Experience in food service or catering
  • Proficient in Outlook, Word, and Excel
