Technical Support Specialist
Posting Summary
The Technical Support Specialist will provide technical, administrative, and customer service support for the University's access control, CATcard, and safety technology systems. As a member of the Department of Safety Technology & Training team, this position helps support the technologies and services that keep campus facilities secure, accessible, and operating effectively for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. Responsibilities include managing access permissions and schedules, troubleshooting software and system issues, supporting technology projects and system upgrades, maintaining equipment and operational records, and assisting customers through a variety of service channels. The successful candidate will work closely with team members, campus departments, and technology partners while developing technical expertise, contributing to campus-wide initiatives, and supporting systems that have a visible impact across the University community.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Associate's degree and one to three years of related experience required, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service, maintain accurate records, and perform administrative or technical support functions required. Strong communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and organizational skills required. Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and effectively support a diverse customer population required. Proficiency with computer systems and standard business software applications required. Valid driver's license and successful driver's check required.
Desirable Qualifications
Experience providing customer service, technical support, training, or administrative support. Strong technical aptitude and the ability to quickly learn new software applications and systems. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams. Familiarity with databases, recordkeeping systems, higher education environments, access management, or security-related technologies is desirable but not required.
Anticipated Pay Range
$25.64-$28.21
