Job Description Summary / TWC Summary:

Under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Operations, the Operations & Facility Services Coordinator supports the daily operations of the Department of Campus Recreation & Wellness by coordinating facility operations, facility services, aquatics operations, and operational support. The position assists in maintaining safe, clean, and functional recreation facilities through routine inspections, maintenance coordination, operational readiness, and student staff supervision while providing exceptional customer service to students, members, andguests.

Essential Duties Summary:

  • Coordinate the daily operation of Campus Recreation facilities to ensure a safe, clean, functional, and welcoming environment.
  • Assist with facility inspections, preventive maintenance, work order coordination, equipment management, operational readiness, and facility services.
  • Support facility safety initiatives, emergency preparedness, operational compliance, and risk mitigation efforts.
  • Supervise, train, schedule, and evaluate part-time and student employees assigned to facility operations and services.
  • Coordinate facility logistics for departmental programs, events, rentals, and special projects.
  • Collaborate with campus partners to support efficient facility operations and service delivery.

Aquatics Operations:
  • Coordinate the daily operations of the aquatic facility.
  • Supervise aquatic part-time, and student employees and support aquatic programming.
  • Assist with pool maintenance, water quality monitoring, staff certifications, and compliance with applicable safety standards.
  • Coordinate aquatic facility inspections and support the implementation of departmental policies and procedures.

Hiring Range:

$45,486.69 - $57,995.53

Education:

Bachelor’s degree or higher.

Required Licensing/Certification:

Licenses, Registrations, Certifications, or Special Requirements:Preferred upon hire or obtained within six (6) months of employment

  • Must be able to work morning, evenings, and weekend shifts
  • Licensed Certified Pool Operator (CPO) OR Aquatics Facility Operator (AFO)
  • American Red Cross CPR/AED Certified Instructor
  • American Red Cross Certified Water Safety Instructor (WSI)
  • American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor (LGI)

Knowledge of:

  • Facility operations and customer service principles.
  • Recreation facility safety standards and operational procedures.
  • Preventive maintenance practices.
  • Aquatics operations and water safety regulations.
  • Emergency preparedness and risk management principles.

Work Experience:

  • Four (4) years of directly related professional experience in campus recreation, facility operations, aquatics, sport management, parks and recreation, facility services, or a related field.

  • Ability to maintain the security or integrity of critical infrastructure, which may include communications systems, computer networks and systems, cybersecurity systems, electrical grid, hazardous waste treatment or water treatment system.

Preferred:
  • Experience in a university registrar’s office or academic affairs unit
  • Familiarity with Banner, PeopleSoft, or similar systems
  • Experience with reporting tools and data analysis
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities

Working/Environmental Conditions:

  • Office-based position within a university setting

  • Peak workload during registration, grading, and graduation periods
  • Prolonged standing and/or walking.
