Educational and Experience Requirement:Associate’s degree in related field. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Three years relevant administrative assistant experience or experience in a related field. Experience in fleet operations is preferred. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.
Nature & Purpose of Position:Performs advanced administrative assistant duties and customer service support functions for Facilities Business Services, including coordinating fleet-related activities, maintaining records, and possibly assisting with operational and financial processes. Provides exceptional customer support to fleet users while ensuring compliance with safety regulations, organizational policies, and applicable legal requirements.
Primary Responsibilities:Performs advanced administrative assistant duties. Provides departmental or University information to students, departments, and staff. Administers SHSU Bearkat Wheels vehicle rental program. Coordinates with the State of Texas Office of Vehicle Fleet Management, US Bank/Voyager Fleet Card program, and manages Toll Road Authority activities regarding SHSU rental fleet vehicles. Oversees the fleet operation support within the Customer Service area. This includes processing vehicle reservations and assignments, assisting with vehicle check-in and check-out procedures, and monitoring fleet availability. Interprets SHSU’s fleet policies and procedures. Compiles, tracks, and reviews data and reports when requested. Prepares, reviews, revises, and distributes documents and correspondence. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Other Specifications:Requires a general knowledge of standard office functions. Requires knowledge of procedures and practices. Must be able to use standard office software. Must be able to apply policies and procedures and solve routine problems of a repetitive nature.
