Department: Finance & Administration – Safety & Security
Reports To: Manager, Security
Travel: Day travel approx. 1 per month
Positions Supervised: Security Officer, Part-time Student Security officers (15-20), 2-4 part-time officers.
LOCATION: Green Bay
STANDARD HOURS: 40 hours per week. Typical hours Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm; Flexibility required to include nights or weekend, as necessary.
SALARY: $68,494 – 73,823 per year
*Salaries/Wages for all finalists (internal and external) will be placed within the range based upon education, experiences, current wages, and internal equity.
POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for ensuring the safety and security of all participants and guests at special events, managing security services agreements, and overseeing the daily operations of the security team. This role involves budget management, employee mentoring, policy development, and emergency management. This position acts as a liaison with law enforcement and manages district-wide security systems.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Coordinate security services for Special Events through collaboration with hosting departments to ensure safety and security of all participants and guests.Manage agreements / contracts with external partners to provide security services for non-NWTC events.
- Facilitate the day-to-day operations of the team to ensure customer needs are met.
- Provide input to the development of the department budget. Monitor revenues, expenses, and equipment / supplies purchases and repairs, to ensure operation within the budget.
- Mentor employees by fostering an environment where skills are developed, by role modeling appropriate behavior, and by instilling confidence. Foster teamwork by demonstrating consistent interaction with all team members.
- Recommend human resource actions including hiring, discipline, and terminations. Communicate performance expectations and provide positive and constructive feedback.
- Work with the Manager of Safety and Security, and other departments when applicable, to assist with review and development of policies and procedures.
- Serve as liaison to law enforcement agencies and coordinate security measures with appropriate College personnel.
- Manage district wide electronic access control, employee ID badge procedures, and security camera system. Assist with Emergency management of predicted and unexpected critical events district wide.Respond to and investigate security, conduct, and medical incidents. Act as a first responder and scene commander of such situations. Enforce college policies by reporting violations, conducting investigative interviews, and documenting actions taken.Develop and maintain the security officer training manual and oversee the training of new security officers.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Associate's Degree in Criminal Justice or related field
Experience
- 3 years of law enforcement, corrections, dispatch or related experience
Certificates & Licenses
- Medical Response Team, CPR/AED certification, Title IX, Blood Bourne Pathogen training or obtainment of certification and training within 6 months of employment.
Computer Skills
- Basic Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
**An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered.
Other Requirements
- Must hold a valid driver’s license and be insurable under the District’s standard insurance policy terms.
