The University of Georgia College of Pharmacy is a distinguished leader in pharmacy education, research, and service at the regional, national, and international levels. Primarily situated on the University of Georgia campus in Athens, the College also has extended campuses in Albany, Augusta, Savannah, and Metro Atlanta (Gwinnett). The College offers nationally recognized pharmacy and pharmaceutical and biomedical sciences, experimental therapeutics, social and administrative sciences, and regulatory sciences degree programs and provides a rigorous, research-based curriculum taught by accomplished faculty in an experiential learning environment. Terminal degree in Pharmacy (Pharm.D.), Pharmaceutical Sciences, Health Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, Public Health, Health Administration, Healthcare Outcomes, Clinical Research, or a closely related discipline appropriate to the assigned teaching responsibilities.

Position Summary:

The University of Georgia College of Pharmacy invites applications for a full-time, fiscal-year (12-month), non-tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Lecturer in the Department of Clinical and Administrative Pharmacy (CAP). This position will be based in Athens, Georgia.
As the College continues to expand its educational programs and impact across Georgia, we seek an outstanding educator who is passionate about student success, innovative teaching, and preparing future pharmacists for contemporary healthcare practice. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to one of the nation’s leading colleges of pharmacy while working collaboratively with faculty, students, and healthcare professionals across multiple instructional sites.
The primary responsibility of this position is to provide instruction and support for the Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) curriculum. The Pharm.D. program includes didactic instruction, small-group learning, skills-based education, laboratory teaching, and experiential learning components. The third professional year of the curriculum is delivered synchronously across multiple campuses, creating opportunities for innovative and collaborative teaching approaches

The successful candidate will contribute to the development, coordination, delivery, and assessment of coursework and educational activities within the professional curriculum. This position carries a significant level of autonomy and offers opportunities to collaborate with interdisciplinary faculty and instructional teams committed to educational excellence.

Additional Requirements:

  • Degree preparation must support instruction within the Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) curriculum and related educational activities.
  • Candidates whose qualifications do not include a terminal degree customarily associated with the Lecturer rank must meet University requirements for consideration of a terminal degree exception, when applicable, and must be approved for a terminal degree exception before hire.

Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, and/or Certification:

  • Professional licensure, certification, or credentials relevant to the teaching discipline, when applicable.
  • Record of academic, clinical, professional, or educational accomplishments supporting success in a teaching-focused faculty role.
  • Evidence of teaching, coordinating, or supporting content within a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) or other healthcare professional curriculum.
  • Evidence of collaborating with interdisciplinary faculty, healthcare professionals, and students in a team-based educational environment.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies:

  • Demonstrated ability to teach effectively in professional, graduate, health sciences, pharmacy, or related academic settings.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Instruction and Course Coordination

  • Develop, coordinate, deliver, and assess instruction within the Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) curriculum.
  • Provide didactic, laboratory, skills-based, and small-group instruction in assigned courses across the professional curriculum.
  • Develop and maintain course materials, examinations, learning activities, and assessment tools that support student learning and achievement of curricular outcomes.
  • Collaborate with faculty and instructional teams in the planning, delivery, and continuous improvement of team-taught courses.
  • Assess student performance, provide academic feedback, and participate in curriculum assessment and accreditation-related activities as needed.
