The Stanford Amrita–Jagadeesh Digital Health Collaboratory was created to have an even bigger Impact by working together to solve some of the formidable challenges in healthcare.

The Academic Staff-Research (AS-R) position is a key role in sustaining and expanding the Collaboratory to be a synergistic Hi-5 Ecosystem of Interdisciplinary Research, International & Industry partnerships for Research, and Translational Research. Snyder Lab’s vision and scientific leadership have helped bring together an extraordinary community of researchers and clinicians. In this AS-R role, the recruited person would work with postdocs, graduate students and other researchers to identify grant proposal opportunities, mentor the writing and submission of research proposals, garner funding support from Industry, and push for translational clinical trials for as many research projects as possible to have impact that reaches patients as their outcome. The AS-R position also has the responsibility for building bridges across institutions and disciplines, so that there is a healthy cross-pollination of ideas.

The Position of AS-R also carries with it the responsibility for developing an Integrated Strategic Plan for the Digital Health Collaboratory, with a focus on five grand challenge areas namely: (1) Global and Population Health, (2) Multidisciplinary and Translational Medicine, (3) Data Driven Precision Medicine, (4) Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Machine Learning (ML) in Medicine, and (5) Innovation in Limited Resource Settings.

Ideal person for this position is a Physician-Scientist who is passionate about improving health care. The Core Duties will include:

  • Initiate multi-center research studies in 3P  Medicine
  • Design and Develop 3D & 3I Personal Health Dashboards
  • Deploy and Evaluate AI-LLM based decision support systems & AI agents
  • Track the following Outcomes : (a) Delivering the three A’s (Affordability, Accessibility, Availability) in global health; (b) Accelerated translation of bio-medical inventions; (c) Enhancing data-driven medicine through access to a widening spectrum of patient data; (d) Robust clinical validation of emerging AI/ML techniques; (e) Sustaining innovation and quality in healthcare delivery without compromising compassionate pricing or timeliness even in the face of rising costs and increasing patient volume 
  • Forge global scientific partnerships targeted towards addressing the grand challenges in Medicine
  • Organize annual symposium, Roundtable meetings for each Grand Challenge area

 

QUALIFICATIONS / MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

MD or equivalent, prior postdoc experience of at least 1 year and also completion of internal medicine residency, International research experience

  • MD or equivalent Medical Degree
  • Postdoctoral Research Experience of at least 1 Year
  • Residency in Internal Medicine  or equivalent  would be a big plus to be able to carry out clinical trials
  • Publications in Reputed Journals with first Co-Authorship
  • Proven experience in a large scale, high profile or mission critical project
  • Proven experience working with AI, particularly LLMs and Decision Support Systems
  • Expert programming skills in Python
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with International research experience
