Job Description
Clinical Research Finance & Compliance (CRFC) is responsible for the accounting and analysis of key financials for all Oncology clinical trials; focusing on Revenue and Billing. Responsibilities across the group include revenue recognition and forecasting, project costing, negotiation of contract terms, monthly reconciliation and invoicing, coverage analysis, patient claim review, patient reimbursement, and assistance with internal audit requests; provides support to the Clinical Trials Office (CTO), Principal Investigators (PIs), and various Business Units across the Medical Center and College of Medicine; determines research costs for protocol specific clinical trial activities based on the Medicare Coverage Analysis in collaboration with clinical research staff, PIs, and other third parties, to create internal budgets for clinical trials within the assigned DSRGs; works with industry Sponsors to develop and agree the contracted prices for clinical trial services; assists in contract review and negotiations alongside the Office of Sponsored Programs and CRFC Contract Analysts for initial contracts as well as modifications to existing contracts; communicates with the clinical team and sets up budget forms needed for each trial to help ensure billing compliance; facilitates the daily financial management of assigned project portfolio; creates and/or approves order requests; performs reconciliations of recognized revenues and costs for assigned projects; reviews cancer patient bills to identify standard of care versus research procedures; utilizes OnCore to ensure protocol activities are completed as required, capture and recognize revenue, and track actual study costs; coordinates with support staff to ensure sponsors are invoiced in a timely and accurate manner; assists in analysis of budget to actual data on monthly, quarterly, and annual bases and for revenue calculations and forecasting.
Minimum Education Required
Bachelor's Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or other Business related field required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 2 years of relevant experience required. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required. Knowledge of a general ledger system is desirable. Requires successful completion of a background check; selected candidate may be asked to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen.
