Responsibilities
  • Financial Management: Provides program, financial, and administrative services for FCAAP/AME activities; plans, allocates, monitors, reconciles, and reports on FSU/FAMU E&G, Auxiliary, Foundation, and C&G funds and serves as financial approval authority for research transactions.
  • Sponsored Programs: Coordinates pre-award through post-award activities, including proposals, budgets, cost-share, awards, supplements, amendments, re-budgets, closeouts, reconciliations, compliance, financial reporting, grant health, obligations, and budget risks
  • Auxiliary Operations: Manages FCAAP auxiliary and self-supporting test-facility activities, including revenues, expenditures, fund balances, service rates, cost recovery, billing, invoicing, service agreements, utilization, reporting, and FSU/FAMU reconciliation.
  • Contracts & Compliance: Coordinates contracts, subcontracts, NDAs, teaming and data-handling arrangements, TCP, research security, and export-control requirements; tracks execution, compliance, milestones, deliverables, and stakeholder responsibilities.
  • Program Planning: Develops annual and multi-year program and financial plans; prioritizes concurrent activities, forecasts expenditures and revenues, supports resource allocation, prepares financial analyses and management reports, and identifies variances, risks, and re-allocations.
  • Research Operations: Coordinates research programs, reviews, workshops, sponsor engagements, educational and outreach activities, including scheduling, logistics, participant coordination, administrative and fiscal support, deliverables, timelines, and reporting.
  • Assets & Facilities: Manages inventory, capital equipment, facility assets, and sponsor- or government-furnished equipment, including acquisition, tracking, tagging, transfer, utilization, disposition, and required documentation.
  • Communications: Manages Center websites and communications, including web governance, branding, accessibility, content updates, newsletters, research highlights, program updates, and stakeholder information.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and four years experience in a related science or research services field or a high school diploma or equivalent and eight years of experience. (Note: or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to eight years.)

A completed Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or the ability to obtain one within three months of hire.

The Florida Center for Advanced Aero-Propulsion (FCAAP) at Florida State University is a multidisciplinary research center within the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering, focused on aerospace and aviation research, technology development, testing, and workforce development. FCAAP is headquartered in the Aero-Propulsion, Mechatronics and Energy (AME) Building in Innovation Park, which supports research activities in aerospace, mechatronics, energy, and related engineering fields. FCAAP brings together faculty, researchers, students, and technical staff and supports research in areas including aerodynamics, aeroacoustics, propulsion, flow control, modeling and simulation, and aerospace testing. The AME Building houses FCAAP’s specialized research and testing facilities, including wind tunnels, jet facilities, and other laboratories supporting research and collaboration with academic, government, and industry partners.
