Job Details
Specific responsibilities include teaching six courses annually at all levels. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching excellence in a liberal arts setting that values interdisciplinary collaboration and diverse perspectives. Fluency in spoken, written and reading Spanish for effective undergraduate teaching and scholarly engagement is required.
Candidates are expected to engage actively in departmental and campus-wide service, academic advising, and student-centered research, organizations, and programs. Candidates should possess outstanding skills in and enthusiasm for teaching in diverse classroom environments at all undergraduate college levels of language, literature, and culture. At Lake Forest College, the quality of a faculty member’s teaching is the most important criterion for evaluation. The College also expects peer-reviewed publications and active participation in the College community. To support faculty research, the college offers a paid semester-long research leave in the 4th or 5th year of service after a successful Third-Year Review.

Lake Forest College offers comprehensive and competitive pay and benefits to attract and retain talented individuals and further our mission. The salary range for this position is $67,000 -$70,000.
