(Primary Location for Job Responsibilities) Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144.

Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

Department Information

DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Collaborate with Office of Cybersecurity Data Security and Awareness team members on addressing ServiceNow tickets
2. Collaborate with Office of Cybersecurity Data Security and Awareness team members on improving security posture on KnowBe4.com platform, data loss prevention policies, compromised accounts
3. Assist with designing and delivering cybersecurity awareness campaigns to educate faculty, staff, and students

DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES*:
Able to analyze the ServiceNow ticket queue and assign to the appropriate team member
Able to articulate solutions to complex problems

Job Summary

Develops and applies practical skills and learns tools to assist with identifying cyber security concerns affecting campus systems. Learns how to create, monitor and maintain safeguards to ensure the cyber security of campus systems. Please note this position is an apprenticeship within Kennesaw State University Information Technology Services department; it does not guarantee permanent employment with the University.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: -
1. Collaborates with UITS team members and KSU departments to address security incidents and fulfill service requests
2. Collaborates with cybersecurity team members on initiatives and recommendations for improvements
3. Learns and utilizes security tools for continuous monitoring and analysis of system activity to identify malicious activity
4. Assists with analyzing security alerts from various sources within the enterprise
5. Assists with determining possible causes of security alerts
6. Provides customer service while addressing Office of Cybersecurity tasks

High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Educational Qualifications
Student currently enrolled seeking a degree

Preferred Experience
Working knowledge of enterprise security tools, such as M365, ServiceNow, and Data Loss Prevention
Previous experience with Security Awareness programs and applications
Prior experience with IT support or customer service is a plus

Proposed Salary

The budgeted hourly range is $12.50, $15.00 or $16.50 per hour. Offers are based on relevant experience.

Develop a foundational understanding of data loss prevention policies, data classification, and regulatory compliance requirements

KNOWLEDGE
KEY LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
Will acquire experience with security tools
Will acquire experience with collaborating with multiple university departments
Will acquire experience with regulations pertaining to storage and handling of confidential and sensitive data, to include PII, FERPA, regulated research, etc.
Will acquire hands-on experience with KnowBe4, Microsoft Purview DLP, and ServiceNow to enhance technical proficiency in security tools
Learn to identify systemic security issues based on data analysis and collaboration with functional users / administrators
Learn how to create and deliver effective cybersecurity awareness programs, focusing on phishing prevention and user education
Learn how to document and report security incidents and metrics to support continuous improvement initiatives
Learn how to identify, analyze, and respond to account compromise incidents, and understand the process of managing IT tickets related to security

SKILLS
Interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills
Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite)
