JOB SUMMARY:
Serves as Assistant Director for the Dean of Students Office- CARE Network. Provides individualized care, advocacy, and non-clinical support to students navigating academic and personal challenges. Oversees department's student employment program and collaborates across campus to foster a responsive and holistic student support environment. JOB DUTIES:
20% - Departmental Operations: Contributes to staff on boarding, training, and development efforts. Supports departmental assessment initiatives through data collection and analysis. Supports the office's outreach and community education initiatives as needed. Participates in divisional and university committee meetings and advisory boards as requested. Collaborates with campus partners across Student Affairs, Academic Affairs, and other university divisions. 45% - Case Management: Provides non-clinical case management to students experiencing crisis and non-crisis concerns. Meets individually with students to assess needs, explore support strategies, and connect them to relevant campus and community resources. Follows up on referrals through the CARE Network and submissions to the Notification of Absence (NOA) system. Coordinates support with faculty, staff, families, and other stakeholders to ensure continuity of care. Maintains accurate, detailed, and timely case documentation per departmental standards. Participates in regular case review meetings and contributes to collaborative decision-making. 25% - Leadership: Recruits, hires, on boards, trains, and evaluates student employees. Oversees scheduling, supervision, and performance management of student staff. Provides on-going coaching, development, and feedback to foster a high-functioning student staff team. Supervises practicum or internship students as assigned. Manages student employee separation processes as needed. Provides leadership and manages the CARE Network in the Associate Director's absence or as requested. Takes lead in assigned projects and initiatives. 10% - Crisis/On-Call Response: Assists with coordinating the university response to critical student concerns. Participates in the Dean On-Call (DOC) rotation to respond to after-hours student crises, including hospital transports and psychological emergencies. Provides back-up support to staff serving as the Back-Up Dean On-Call as needed or requested. Provides follow-up case management for students involved in critical incidents. Represents the department in university-wide emergency response efforts, including the Emergency Management Council (EMC) and Emergency Operations Center (EOC), as needed.

A bachelor's degree and professional experience in human services or social services programs.

Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.
ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL:
Emergency Response - In the event of an emergency closure or modified operations, this position is required to respond in order to provide the University's initial response to the emergency situation, including the execution of mission essential functions. Some positions in this category may be required to work remotely or be on call.
