About the College/Unit/Department:The Department of Psychology has approximately 45 faculty members, 90 doctoral students, and approximately 2100 undergraduate Psychology majors. The Clinical Psychology Program has approximately 10 faculty and 35 graduate students. The department is committed to promoting the careers of junior faculty. Position Summary:The Department of Psychology at the University of Georgia invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track Clinical Assistant Professor to join our clinical psychology Ph.D. training program. This position offers an exceptional opportunity for a psychologist who is passionate about supervision, clinical practice, mentorship, and teaching and who is seeking a rewarding, long-term career training the next generation of psychologists within a collaborative university environment.
The successful candidate will play a central role in the training mission of the department’s in-house Psychology Clinic (http://www.psychology.uga.edu/clinic), providing supervision and mentorship to doctoral students delivering evidence-based assessment and intervention services to children, adolescents, young adults, and families. Opportunities to offer specialized clinical services are also available, depending on the candidate’s interests.
The Clinical Assistant Professor will also teach clinically relevant and general psychology courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, providing opportunities to contribute to the education and professional development of students across multiple stages of training.
The position is designed to support a sustainable and rewarding clinical-academic career, with a Monday-Friday schedule. The University of Georgia also allows faculty to engage in up to one day per week of outside activities allowing the successful candidate to maintain or expand direct clinical practice or consulting activities alongside their teaching and supervision responsibilities if desired.
The successful candidate will join a nationally prominent and productive faculty and department interested in promoting the careers of junior faculty. The Clinical Psychology Program has a clinical science model and is dually accredited by APA and the Psychological Clinical Science Accreditation System (PCSAS).
The candidate will be licensed or license‐eligible to practice in the State of Georgia.
