To do this, we conduct research, a great deal of which is done through clinical trials in humans (known as human subject research). There are many federal requirements that all research institutions must meet to conduct human subject research. We have an outstanding, dynamic, and growing group of researchers, administrators, and office staff ready to assist. Our defined strengths lie in the areas of: Conventional clinical trials, community and population health, social, behavioral, and educational research. Community education, well-defined research initiation process, ongoing and continued support for conduct of research, and integrated and technology advanced IT systems to support efficient research processes. Job Summary
This is a non-supervisory, combination operations/budget/accounting-type position with responsibility for specialized business services related to the primary operations of a designated department. This Position works with the CTO Director, the CTO staff, Business Manager and Departmental Managers to ensure all clinical research studies are properly reviewed and reconciled for financial stability. This includes reviewing and processing staff study efforts.
Responsibilities The duties include but are not limited to:FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist the Business Manager with all financial activities in relation to other departments (i.e. contracts, service agreements, educational development, travel, and other research-related areas). Assist with budget management and provide efficiencies in the department to reduce expenditure if necessary. Development of study invoices, study budgets, payment of internal invoices, OnCore related requests, and Effort certification. Using various systems to monitor, maintain, and reconcile all financial activity related to CTO clinical studies including pulling monthly financial reports (budget transaction detail, appropriation status, and project grant status). Review MC and AUMA bills for accuracy and completeness. Prepare and meet with CTO management and investigators when necessary to discuss financial related matters. Work with management to prepare budget reports and help eliminate budget-checking messages when needed. Assist and provide oversight for all NIH grants and its affiliate sites, and industry sponsored studies (including extramural routing, budget preparation, and completing grant/study renewals). Prepare monthly and bi-weekly uploads for staff effort reporting for clinical studies. This includes preparing reporting sheets, uploads, and reconciling employee pay runs.
OTHER: Perform all other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration or a related discipline and one year administrative and/or management experience OR Associates degree from an accredited college or university and two years of relevant experience OR High school diploma, GED or equivalent from a recognized State or Federal accrediting organization and three years administrative and fiscal management experience. Preferred Qualifications Position requires a strong ability to communicate verbally and in writing with research offices, sponsors, PI's, coordinators and Institutional administrators. Be able to read and comprehend complex contractual agreements.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities KNOWLEDGEProficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases.Knowledge and direct experience in financial and budgetary practices, fiscal data administration as well as compliance and records management.SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.Detail-oriented with strong prioritization and organizational skills.

Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines despite often interruptions, maintain confidentiality, keep accurate records and make independent decisions
