New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) invites applications, nominations and inquiries for the position of Chief Human Resources Officer.

Situated on Saadiyat Island in Abu Dhabi, NYUAD is a world-class research university and an integral part of New York University’s global network, which spans New York, Abu Dhabi and Shanghai together with academic centers on six continents. Located on a purpose-built 40-acre residential campus within Abu Dhabi’s cultural district, the University combines a distinguished liberal arts and sciences education with a rapidly expanding graduate and research enterprise. NYUAD serves more than 2,000 undergraduate and graduate students, offers 26 undergraduate majors, three master’s programs and 13 Global PhD Fellowship programs, and supports more than 90 research laboratories and centers. Since its establishment, the University has produced more than 9,200 research publications and secured more than $65 million in external research funding, further strengthening its position as one of the region’s leading centers of academic excellence and discovery.

Reporting to New York University’s Vice President and Global Chief Human Resources Officer and NYUAD’s Chief Operating Officer, and working in close partnership with NYU Abu Dhabi’s senior leadership team, the Chief Human Resources Officer provides strategic leadership for all aspects of the University’s human resources function. The successful candidate will lead a high-performing HR organization and serve as a trusted advisor on matters relating to talent, leadership, workforce planning, employee engagement, compensation and benefits, organizational effectiveness and institutional change. The CHRO will play a central role in ensuring that NYUAD continues to attract, develop and retain exceptional academic and professional talent while aligning local priorities with New York University’s global people strategy and maintaining compliance with UAE employment regulations.

Candidates should possess significant senior human resources leadership experience within a complex, multi-stakeholder organization together with a demonstrated record of developing and implementing people strategies that support institutional performance, growth and organizational excellence. Experience in higher education, academic medicine or another knowledge-intensive environment is desirable. The successful candidate will bring strategic perspective, operational credibility, sound judgment, exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to build trusted relationships with senior academic and administrative leaders in an internationally connected institution.
