Job Details:The Office of University Marketing and Communication is seeking a creative and dependable Student Content Creator to support Coastal Carolina University’s flagship social media accounts. This position will assist the social media team by capturing and creating engaging photo and video content that showcases campus life and strengthens the University’s brand across social media platforms.
This position will work up to 20 hours per week, with hours scheduled between 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Friday. Occasional evening or after-hours event coverage may be required, with scheduled hours adjusted accordingly.
Duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Capturing high-quality photos and videos of campus life, events, students, faculty, and staff for CCU’s flagship social media accounts.
- Shooting photos using a professional DSLR or mirrorless camera.
- Shooting videos using professional video equipment such as an Osmo or similar.
- Creating and editing short-form video content, including Reels, Stories, and other social-first content.
- Editing photos and videos using Photoshop, Lightroom, CapCut, or similar programs.
- Creating social media graphics and other visual content using Canva.
- Assisting with real-time social media coverage of University events.
- Identifying social media trends and creative content opportunities appropriate for the CCU brand.
- Collaborating with the social media team to brainstorm and execute content ideas and campaigns.

- Enrolled as a full-time CCU student during employment.
- Experience creating photo and video content for social media.
- Experience using a professional DSLR or mirrorless camera.
- Knowledge of Photoshop and/or Lightroom.
- Experience shooting and editing video using CapCut or similar software.
- Strong working knowledge of Canva.
- Ability to work up to 20 hours per week during the University’s regular business hours, with occasional availability for evening events.
- Applicants should provide examples of previous photography, video, or social media content.
- Marketing, communication, digital media, graphic design, photography, or related majors preferred.
- Strong visual and creative skills with an understanding of social media content and trends.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to accept feedback and make revisions as needed.
- Ability to represent the University professionally when interacting with students, faculty, staff, and campus visitors.
