Description
The Assistant Men's Lacrosse Coach at Lafayette College plays a vital role in supporting the head coach in all aspects of the program, including coaching, recruiting, player development, and administrative responsibilities. Competing in the Patriot League, Lafayette values both academic excellence and athletic success, requiring an assistant coach who can mentor student-athletes, foster a positive team culture, and ensure compliance with Lafayette College, Patriot League, and NCAA regulations. This position also involves collaborating with campus partners, engaging in community outreach, and assisting with fundraising and alumni relations to strengthen the program's long-term success.
Primary Responsibilities:

Assist in practice planning, game strategy, and player development. -
Recruit high-achieving student-athletes who align with Lafayette's academic and athletic standards. -
Promote a culture of academic responsibility and achievement, ensuring student-athletes meet Lafayette's rigorous academic expectations. -
Support student-athletes in leadership, discipline, and personal growth, in alignment with Lafayette's values. -
Work closely with individual athletes to develop technical skills, conditioning, and mental preparation for competition. -
Support team logistics, scheduling, film analysis, and travel coordination. -
Work with sports medicine and strength staff to promote injury prevention, wellness, and athlete recovery. -
Engage in community outreach, alumni relations, and fundraising efforts. -
Collaborate with the marketing and communications team to promote the team's achievements and recruit visibility. -
Foster a positive, disciplined, and inclusive team culture.
Qualifications

Collegiate playing or coaching experience, preferably at the Division I level. -
Bachelor's Degree required. Masters Degree preferred. -
Upon position acceptance, successful completion of PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check.
Candidates must exhibit the ability to build and maintain professional relationships with student-athletes and staff, showcasing a genuine passion for enhancing the student-athlete experience. Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills are essential. The ideal candidate will excel in collaborating with individuals from diverse backgrounds, educational levels, and cultural perspectives. They must demonstrate a commitment to adhering to Lafayette College, Patriot League, and NCAA rules and regulations. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends is required.
