    Job Summary

    The Accreditation and Assessment Specialist has responsibilities that include, but are not limited to, supporting the College’s institutional assessment, accreditation, and improvement activities. The Accreditation and Assessment Specialist assists with the collection, organization, and maintenance of assessment and accreditation documentation; supports academic and student support units with assessment activities; and prepares information and reports to support institutional effectiveness and student success. This position works collaboratively with faculty and staff to ensure assessment activities and documentation are completed accurately and in accordance with applicable institutional, state, and accreditation requirement. This position reports to LSCPA’s Dean of Educational Programs Department.

    Duties/Responsibilities

  • Assist with the coordination and maintenance of institutional accreditation and assessment documentation
  • Collect, organize, and maintain evidence and supporting documentation for accreditation reviews, reports, and institutional assessment activities
  • Assist academic and student support departments with the collection and submission of assessment information and annual assessment reports
  • Monitor assessment and accreditation timelines and follow up with departments regarding required documentation and submissions
  • Compile and organize assessment and student success data for reports, presentations, and institutional planning activities
  • Maintain assessment, accreditation, and institutional effectiveness files and databases to ensure information is accurate, current, and accessible
  • Provide technical assistance and basic training to faculty and staff on assessment processes, reporting requirements, and related software
  • Assist with institutional committees, meetings, and projects related to assessment, accreditation, student success, and continuous improvement
  • Comply with campus policies and procedures
  • Other related duties, as assigned
  • Minimum/Preferred Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accreditation institution of higher education, in Education, Social Sciences, Higher Education, Assessment/Evaluation, or a closely related field
  • Two (2) years’ of progressively responsible experience in higher education, assessment, institutional effectiveness, administrative support, reporting, or related area

  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with institutional assessment, accreditation, or continuous improvement processes
  • Experience working in a community college or Texas higher education environment
  • Familiarity with SACSCOC standards, Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) requirements, or Texas State University System (TSUS) policies
  • Experience with assessment tracking systems, student information systems, or institutional reporting tools

  • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Working knowledge of higher education assessment, institutional effectiveness, and accreditation processes
  • Ability to collect, organize, analyze, and present information accurately and clearly.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and projects
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to learn and effectively use student information systems, assessment platforms, and related software
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, and administrators
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle institutional and student information appropriately
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships and provide responsive support to departments across the College
  • Supplemental Information

    Physical Requirements:
    This position requires employees to remain in a stationary position most of the time; move to various locations on campus; move about inside an office to access documents, office equipment, etc.; and operate a computer or other office equipment, such as a printer or copy machine.

    Work Hours:
    Monday – Friday, 40 hours a week
