Location

Our campus is located at 1601 Maple Street, Carrollton, GA 30118.

Faculty and staff members are expected to be physically present on campus as needed to support the in-person educational experience and on-campus vitality at the University of West Georgia. Depending upon teaching assignments and student demand, this could include the Carrollton or Newnan campuses.

Job Summary

This position is responsible for all phases of the experiential learning field placement process in the College of Education across six academic departments. The job responsibilities include implementing the multi-step process for securing and assigning field-based site placements for candidates and communicating extensively with industry partners (K-12 school systems, medical facilities, and major sport venues) to maintain excellent relationships and confirm field site placements. Other duties include conducting the Internship Orientation twice each year; advising students regarding field experience requirements, teacher education admission process, appeals, and general policies and procedures; maintaining extensive databases of student placement records for accreditation purposes; preparing end of term reports; and designing and reviewing forms and presentations for the Office of Field Experiences.

Responsibilities

1 -
Responsible for all phases of the experiential learning field placement including processing placement applications for over 500 candidates, maintaining accurate databases, processing school and medical system requests, assisting with placement decisions, and trouble shooting all requests to a satisfactory conclusion. Responsibilities also include conducting the Internship Orientation each fall and spring semesters.

Develop and maintain relationships with industry partners (K-12 school systems, medical facilities, and major sport venues) for securing effective site placements for over 500 students each semester. Completing forms and processing as required by the industry partner to verify student credentials.

Advise students regarding field-experience requirements, teacher education admission, appeals, and general policies and procedures.
Maintain accurate student records and databases according to USG, UWG, Georgia Professional Standards Commission and Board of Regents requirements.

4 -
Prepare end of term report, site-based supervision invoices for external partners, honoraria payments, and 50-mile waivers.
Design and review forms and presentation materials for support of the Office of Field Experiences.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
High School Diploma

Required Experience
Five (5) years of professional experience in higher education, educator preparation programs, K-12 education, student services, academic support services, field experience coordination or a closely related area. Experience maintaining confidential student records and databases. Experience interpreting and applying policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Experience communicating with multiple stakeholders and providing customer service to students, faculty, and external partners. Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and student information systems or database management software.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Educational Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Education, Student Affairs or related field

Preferred Experience Qualifications

Experience working in a College of Education or educator preparation program. Experience coordinating field experiences, clinical practice, practicum placements, internships, student teaching placements, or professional internships. Experience working with teacher certification, educator licensure, or state professional standards requirements. Experience advising undergraduate and graduate students. Experience developing partnerships with K-12 school districts for educator preparation purposes. Experience preparing reports, tracking compliance data, and managing placement-related documentation. Preferred Knowledge Knowledge of GaPSC regulations and teacher certification requirements. Knowledge of placement management systems and student information systems.

Proposed Salary

$52,000-$60,000. Paid on a monthly basis.
