8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. - Monday - Friday as fits to class schedule

Salary:

$12.00 per hour (20 hours per week)

Job Summary:

The Controller's Office is seeking an Accountant Intern. This person will work with the Controller to gain first-hand experience. This person will perform research, prepare financial reports, and assist with reconciling accounts and other duties as needed.

Hours and focus of work are flexible depending on availability, skills and interest. A commitment of roughly up to 20 hours per week.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Shadows members of the Controller's Office as they perform their duties.
• Assists with research, filing, data entry, and recording and maintaining accurate and complete financial records.
• Prepare financial reports and other documents.
• Handling sensitive or confidential information with honesty and integrity.
• Learning how to work as part of a Team to compile and analyze data, track information, and support the University or clients.
• Taking on additional tasks or projects to learn more about accounting and office operations.
• Prepares and sends out communications regarding financial policies and compliance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

• Current enrollment at Jacksonville State University with a major in accounting..
