Counseling and Psychological Services is a unit within UNCG’s Student Health Services. UNCG Counseling and Psychological Services provides a wide range of counseling and psychological services to currently enrolled UNCG students virtually and in person, designed to support and challenge students’ personal growth, academic success, and emotional health, as well as services and programs to promote positive mental health throughout the University community. The services may include: short-term individual counseling, group therapy, workshops, psychiatric services, and a variety of outreach programs designed to promote self-help and personal growth.

The Campus Violence Response Center’s (CVRC) mission is to create a single point of access for any UNCG student who has experienced violence. CVRC is confidential staff providing survivors with affirming, empowering, and confidential services.

This position will oversee, direct, coordinate and evaluate crisis services across Counseling & Psychological Services and Campus Violence Response Center; provide strategic leadership for Crisis Management Process and clinical case management, including AOD and MH concerns; provides administrative and clinical supervision of assigned Counseling and Psychological Services and CVRC clinical staff and ensure liaison relationships with community agencies and behavioral health care providers, particularly inpatient units

The Assistant Director will direct and provide effective case management, including a comprehensive referral, follow-up, and continuity of care program for students needing resources beyond Counseling & Psychological Services; Evaluate and maintain website referral database for students seeking community mental health care; Collaborate with integral campus partners, including but not limited to the Dean of Students Office, Title IX, the Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities; Other clinical duties may include: crisis intervention, including support for after-hours crisis provision, same day services, individual and group counseling

This position will also provide outreach and consultation to students, faculty, staff and families; Supervision and training of practicum/intern graduate students. This is a leadership position within Counseling & Psychological Services and as such provides strategic visioning and planning for mental health services, particularly crisis and case management, within the UNCG community; Collaboratively develop and update Counseling & Psychological Services policies and procedures related to crisis intervention, crisis management, hospitalization, referral and scope of care; Other duties as assigned.

• An earned Master of Social Work or Master of Counseling degree. A North Carolina license is required to allow the practice of Counseling (LCMHC/LCMHCA) or Social Work (LCSWA/LCSW).
• Experience in crisis and risk assessment and management
• Clinical and administrative supervision experience
• Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships with diverse constituents.
• Demonstrated proficiency in and a commitment to multicultural competence and experience working with individuals from culturally diverse populations, as well as underrepresented and/or underserved populations.
• Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills, including effective oral and written communication skills.

• At least 3 years of experience in college counseling.
• At least 3 years of experience in clinical case management in a college/university setting.
