Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit:Career & Professional Development (CPD) empowers Spartans to become Career-Ready from exploration to life beyond graduation. CPD accomplishes this mission by:
- Providing data-informed guidance to help students discover career paths, develop transferable skills, and prepare for meaningful work and life.
- Collaborating across campus to create a career ecosystem.
- Building trusted relationships with employers who believe in UNCG talent.
This Employment Data Coordinator position will report to the Director for Career and Professional Development, supporting Career & Professional Development’s mission to build a career ecosystem across campus. The Employment Data Coordinator leads the annual First Destination Survey process, working closely with Schools, Colleges, and CPD’s Career Development and Employer Relations teams to strengthen students’ understanding of career outcomes reporting and connect that data to CPD’s broader career readiness work. The coordinator cultivates relationships with staff, faculty, and administrators to drive survey completion, and shares survey data with ITS Data Management to support institutional reporting. Beyond survey season, the coordinator contributes to CPD’s programming and student engagement efforts, serving as an active partner across the office’s functional areas rather than a standalone data function.
Minimum Qualifications:- BACHELOR’S DEGREE AND ONE YEAR OF EXPERIENCE RELATED TO THE AREA OF ASSIGNMENT; OR EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE.
- ALL DEGREES MUST BE RECEIVED FROM APPROPRIATELY ACCREDITED INSTITUTIONS.
- Two to three (2-3) years of experience in a marketing/public relations/communications, technology, career services, or higher education environment.
- Public speaking ability and experience.
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel, Access, Photoshop and/or Illustrator

Key Responsibility:First Destination Survey Coordination & Outreach
Essential Tasks:- Coordinate the annual First Destination Survey process from setup through close-out, including timelines, reminders, and follow-up activities.
- Ensure graduating student data is accurately uploaded and maintained in the outcomes tracking system (12Twenty).
- Develop and send survey communications to students, in coordination with Career & Professional Development staff and campus partners.
- Manage survey incentives (e.g., t-shirt giveaways), including inventory tracking, distribution logistics, and communication.
- Carry out direct outreach activities that support survey completion during each graduation cycle.
- Share survey data with ITS Data Management to support institutional reporting and analysis

Key Responsibility:Career Community Collaboration & Campus Partnerships
Essential Tasks:- Build and maintain outreach processes to graduating students that motivate survey completion.
- Partner with Schools, Colleges, and CPD’s Career Development and Employer Relations teams to align outcomes work with broader career readiness programming.
- Review participation trends and recommend improvements to survey workflows and communication approaches.
- Represent CPD in cross-campus meetings and trainings, sharing employment trends and outcomes context with faculty and staff partners.
- Contribute outcomes insight to CPD’s career community programming so it is used beyond compliance reporting.

Key Responsibility:Systems & Data Support
Essential Tasks:- Maintain working knowledge of 12Twenty and serve as primary liaison to the vendor.
- Monitor survey responses for completeness and quality, flagging issues to ITS Data Management.
- Research and stay current on best practices in employment outcomes data collection.
- Support documentation and basic training for campus partners involved in outcomes data collection.

Key Responsibility:CPD Program & Student Engagement Support
Essential Tasks:- Support broader CPD programming and events (career fairs, workshops, campaigns) as a general team contributor, not limited to survey season.
- Engage directly with students at CPD touchpoints beyond the First Destination Survey outreach window.
- Assist other CPD functional areas as capacity allows during non-peak survey periods.
