Assistant Professor

The Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering at Stanford University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the junior level (Assistant Professor). We seek applicants in support of the department's vision of creating solutions for cities, communities, and nature to thrive, with a particular focus on water or air quality (https://cee.stanford.edu/research-impact). While we give highest priority to the originality, quality, and potential impact of the candidate's work, we are especially interested in applicants whose research advances the characterization, assessment, and mitigation of risks to clean air and safe water in natural and engineered systems including resource recovery, physiochemical treatment systems, scalable water and wastewater services, and air quality engineering solutions linked to climate, energy use, and health outcomes, among others. Applicants must have completed, or be completing, a Ph.D. in the advertised field or a closely related one. Evidence of the ability to pursue a program of research, and a strong commitment to graduate and undergraduate teaching are also required. A successful candidate will be expected to teach courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels and to build and lead a team of graduate students in PhD research.

The expected base pay range for this position is:

Assistant Professor: $144,100- $163,766
