Required Qualifications: A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) and experience in the installation, maintenance or repair of air, water, gas or waste disposal systems. Relevant experience may be substituted for the required diploma on a year-for-year basis. Must possess and keep a valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in the plumbing industry. Backflow prevention certification.
Duties include, but are not limited to:· Performs preventive maintenance for the plumbing systems throughout the campus.· Performs plumbing repairs as required.· Provides plumbing work on university renovation projects.· Promotes and ensures best safety practices are utilized per required codes.
Plumber I (KC18/61122510/FTE-S01198P), full-time position with benefits. SC State Pay Grade: GEN07. Salary range: $40,086.00 (minimum) – $54,162.00 (midpoint). Normal work hours are Monday through Thursday, 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. and Friday 12:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Must be flexible to meet the special scheduling needs of the university.

Must have an understanding of the different types of plumbing materials that can be utilized with repairs, renovations and construction projects. Provide oral, written and computer skills. Must be able to proficiently operate computers, calculators, copiers, telephones, jetter machine, drain cleaning machine, power tools, acetylene torch, soldering, ladders and vehicles.
