The Department of Management, Information Systems, and Quantitative Methods in the UAB Collat School of Business invites applications for a non-tenure-track Instructor of Management. We seek an innovative, student-centered educator with broad expertise in management and the ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in areas such as human resource management, organizational behavior, leadership, and related areas. The successful candidate will design and deliver engaging courses for in-person and online classes, help students connect management concepts to contemporary organizational practice, and contribute to a collaborative, applied learning environment. Candidates with professional, practitioner, or leadership experience, and/or the ability to incorporate analytics, emerging technologies, and responsible AI use into teaching, are especially encouraged to apply.

Primary Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in management and related areas, such as human resource management, organizational behavior, leadership, strategy, analytics, and data-informed managerial decision-making, based on departmental needs and the candidate’s qualifications.
• The position carries a teaching load of four courses in the fall semester and four courses in the spring semester.
• Develop and deliver high-quality courses in in-person, online, and/or hybrid formats.
• Integrate experiential, applied, practitioner-oriented, and technology-enhanced learning activities that connect management concepts to real-world organizational settings.
• Use contemporary instructional technologies, where appropriate, to enhance student learning while demonstrating responsible, ethical, and effective use.
• Participate in curriculum development and contribute to the continued growth and visibility of the Management and Human Resource Management programs.
• Engage with students and colleagues in support of a collaborative, inclusive, and student-focused learning environment.

Required Qualifications

• A master’s degree in management, business, or a closely related field, with qualifications appropriate for teaching at the university level.
• Teaching experience in higher education, with demonstrated ability to teach management-related courses.
• Ability to teach effectively in both in-person and online learning environments.
• Strong communication skills and a demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence and student learning.
• Familiarity with current technologies that support effective teaching and student engagement.

Preferred Qualifications

• Breadth of teaching expertise across management, organizational behavior, human resource management, leadership, analytics, or related areas.
• Professional or practitioner experience in management, human resources, organizational leadership, analytics, or a related field.
• Ability to incorporate experiential, applied, project-based, analytics-oriented, or technology-enhanced learning activities into management courses.
• Experience incorporating artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies into teaching and/or professional practice, with an emphasis on responsible, ethical, and effective use.
• Experience developing and delivering online or hybrid courses, including use of Canvas or another learning management system.
