Visa Information
TTUHSC, at its sole discretion, may initiate new H-1B I-129 visa petitions in accordance with the directive issued by Governor Abbott. Approval from the Texas Workforce Commission is required. On a limited, case-by-case basis, the institution may also sponsor eligible individuals for change-of-status or change-of-employer petitions for qualifying positions. TTUHSC will not pay the $100,000 fee, if applicable.
Position Description
Employees in this classification are in the senior position of this career track and provide patient care management to an assigned clinic in the areas of clerical and clinical duties. In the clinical setting, the employee receives direct supervision from a physician or nursing supervisor in either oral or written form. In the office setting, the employee receives direct supervision from the department administrator. May supervise other Medical Assistants, clerical staff and student positions. Work is performed under usual office and clinic conditions, and may be stressful when working under emergency conditions.
Major/Essential Functions

• Problem-solves issues related to the retrieval of medical information. Coordinates clinical services provided to patients.
• Report all pertinent findings to inter-professional team. Prepare charts as necessary for next scheduled clinic, provide physician with all necessary results, and medical records as requested.
• Maintains cleanliness of examination/treatment rooms. Assisting to ensure that clinical space cleanliness is maintained by working with other staff in clinic.
• Takes accurate vital signs and measurements.
• Attends staff meetings, as assigned by Supervisor.
• Maintains inventory of supplies in examination/treatment rooms.
• Assist in UA collections at SWIAD Clinic.
• Communicates patient data using EMR to support decision-making to improve patient care.

UA collectors conducting direct observations must be the same gender as the individual providing the specimen, with no exceptions.
Required Qualifications
A minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent; graduation from an approved certified program for assistants in the area of required specialty. Certification by an approved accredited certifying agency in the specialty in which the particular work will be performed; a minimum of two years of directly related experience.
Preferred Qualifications

• Male clinician with current preferred assistant credentials.
• Experience with EHR (Epic).
• Experience in a clinical office setting.

Schedule Details
5 days per month from 12:00 to 1:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm with 1 of those days being Saturday from 4:00pm to 7:00pm/ Tuesday and Friday will include flexible scheduling as needed to accommodate the evening and saturday coverage.
