Job Summary

This is a professional entry level position responsible for assisting personnel in higher education system divisions and departments to develop, monitor, and manage large scale projects. The position will assist with components and phases of the project and communicate project statuses to stakeholders and decision makers.

The Project Manager for Student Success supports the policy and program work of the Office of Student and Faculty Success and assists with student success efforts across Academic Affairs and other USG departments. The Project Manager provides administrative and project support to System staff and institutional leads and teams focused on student success and completion, under the direction of senior team members. The Project Manager assists with day-to-day tasks that support USG's engagement with on-campus audiences and system staff, and, as directed, contributes to materials and logistics for work with the Board of Regents, national partners and foundations, and the business community related to the state's post-secondary goals.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree

Other Required Qualifications
administrative and coordination support

Required Experience
At least one year experience in a similar role
scheduling, documenting, and following up on requests and contacts;
coordination of communications, events, and documentation

Preferred Qualifications


Preferred Experience
Experience in higher education settings;
Experience with managing multiple complex projects from start to completion;
Project evaluation and monitoring

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

ABILITIES
Ability to support work across functional areas on campuses and assist with interfacing with national groups, under the direction of senior staff
Ability to assist with tasks at the practitioner, office, campus, and system levels
Ability to effectively use standard software, including Microsoft Word and Excel
Demonstrated ability to learn new technology
Ability to manage multiple routine requests and tasks
Ability to adapt to a changeable work environment
Ability to travel occasionally

KNOWLEDGE
Basic familiarity with research and evaluation methodologies
General knowledge of higher education policy and context
Basic understanding of project management

SKILLS
Solid facilitation skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Diplomatic in communications and relationship building
