Associate Director for Graduate Programs & Fellowships

Located at the intersection of computer science, biology, medicine, and statistics, the Biomedical Data Science (BMDS) graduate program in the Department of Biomedical Data Science seeks to promote research and training in the design of novel methods to solve challenging problems in the biomedical domain. We are recruiting an Executive Director who will be responsible for the operational management and strategic growth of the BMI program. The program currently trains over 100 students, both masters and PhD, local and remote, and includes over 20 affiliated faculty across many departments, all of whom will interact with the Executive Director and Director of Graduate Studies to continue the successful interdisciplinary research and educational mission of the program.

Duties include:

 

Lead execution and analysis of complex functions or programs with significant business, regulatory and/or technical challenges. May provide development of program or function from initial concept to implementation.

Manage the administration and evaluation of programs or functions. Oversee the interpretation, implementation and compliance with policies and regulations. Recommend actions and/or resolve complex issues that often span organizational boundaries.

Represent the program or function at the university level and/or to external/internal stakeholders and constituencies.

Develop and manage outreach strategy that includes relationship development, communications, and compliance.

Oversee or supervise staff in the development and implementation of programs or functions.

Help develop and/or oversee budgets; manage finances including monitoring, analyzing, forecasting, and reporting.

The budgeted pay range for this position is $161,339.74 to $201,822.64 per annum.

Responsibilities

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree and eight years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.
