The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders educates students to improve human communication through academic programs, clinical service, research, continuing education, and innovation in speech-language pathology and audiology.
Job Duties:
The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSDI) at East Carolina University (ECU) invites applications for a part-time 12-month, fixed term (non-tenure track) faculty appointment (.75 FTE). This position provides pediatric speech-language pathology services at two locations: the ECU Community School (ECUCS) and the ECU Speech-Language and Hearing Clinic (ECU-SLHC). The position reports to the chair of Communication Sciences and Disorders and responsibilities may be re-assigned at discretion of the department chair.

The position will be expected to:

Provide clinical speech-language pathology services primarily to pediatric patients at two locations: ECUCS and ECU-SLHC. (75%)
Provide supervision of graduate student clinicians for 2 credit hours per semester or 6 credit hours annually. (20%)
Provide meaningful service to the profession, university, and broader community. (5%)

Minimum Education/Experience:

Master's degree in speech-language pathology or related field from an accredited program.
Prior experience in clinical services and supervision of graduate students.

License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation:

Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)
Current North Carolina licensure, or eligibility for licensure in North Carolina, as a speech-language pathologist.

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education:

Experience in the school system providing SLP services.
Five or more years of experience in clinical supervision.
Experience with language and literacy evaluation and treatment.
