Assistant Professor Position in Analytical Chemistry

The Department of Chemistry at Colby College invites applications for a tenure-track, Assistant Professor position in analytical chemistry to begin fall 2027. We welcome applications from analytical chemists in all disciplines with preference for expertise in environmental applications, particularly in aqueous or terrestrial settings. Candidates must have earned a Ph.D. in chemistry or a related field by the position start date, demonstrate a commitment to teaching undergraduate General Chemistry and Analytical chemistry, and be able to contribute to our environmental chemistry curriculum. Qualified candidates will also demonstrate a strong commitment to building an active research program involving undergraduate students.  The Colby Chemistry Department offers excellent instrumentation and computational resources to support analytical work. The College has a vibrant program in environmental sciences bridging multiple departments and partnerships with regional institutions such as Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences, The Seven Lakes Alliance, and Colby’s Island Campus.
