GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
The Talent Acquisition Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of talent acquisition including recruiting, retention, and the Talent Management System at Kirkwood Community College (KCC). This position oversees the Talent team and plays a strategic role in evaluating the College’s staffing needs, managing recruitment and hiring processes, and developing recruitment strategies in collaboration with campus partners. The Talent Manager ensures the implementation of effective practices to attract, hire, and retain a diverse and highly qualified workforce across the institution. Additionally, this role oversees the Talent Management System, ensuring data integrity and recommending enhancements to improve both the new hire and overall employee experience.
The typical work schedule will be Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm.UNIVERSAL CORE COMPETENCIES:
- Lead and support a team of Coordinators to oversee all aspects of hiring and equity across the college.
- Oversee the Talent Management System (TMS), including managing system workflows, maintaining data accuracy, and developing process improvements.
- Identify, lead, and implement HR projects college wide to improve retention, recruitment and hiring processes across campus.
- Ensure selection and hiring policies comply with KCC policies and applicable local, state, and federal laws.
- Serve as a resource to hiring managers on legal requirements, HR policies, and best practices related to recruitment and hiring.
- Partner with hiring managers to identify and evaluate the most qualified applicants for job openings.
- Establish, analyze, and communicate recruiting and hiring metrics to stakeholders to inform and guide hiring strategies.
- Oversee the federal I-9 employment eligibility verification process and ensure institutional compliance.
- Oversee the H1B Visa and Green Card process for new hires and employees.
- Make recommendations on compensation.
- Maintain the pay band listing.
- Evaluate sourcing channels to strengthen candidate pipelines and ensure broad, diverse applicant outreach.
- Help ensure job descriptions are accurate, current, and aligned with institutional and compliance standards.
- Market KCC as an employer of choice by leading employment branding initiatives and coordinating or attending career fairs and recruitment events.
- Other duties as assigned.
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS:
- This position requires a valid driver's license and participation in continuous Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) monitoring. Your driving record will be verified initially and monitored on an ongoing basis as a condition of employment.
