Job OverviewPick up and deliver merchandise, materials, and supplies.
Essential Functions- Load and unload vehicles. Pick up and deliver various materials (e.g., supplies, laundry, mail, documents, payrolls, drugs, laboratory specimens, food, equipment, and parts) on scheduled routes. Maintain all necessary logs and records.
- Sign and account for all merchandise; obtain signature for receipt of merchandise upon delivery; perform stockroom duties.
- Perform clerical tasks related to delivery work (e.g., answer telephone, maintain and file records, process mail).
- Maintain vehicles by scheduling routine preventive maintenance; inspect vehicle and report any problems.
- Keep inside of vehicle clean.
- Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time.
High School Diploma or GED
Required Trainings/CertificationsValid driver's license with an acceptable record
Required ExperienceThree (3) months experience in delivery of equipment and/or supplies
Ability to drive standard transmission of vehicles of all sizes
Ability to read and write common vocabulary
Ability to read maps and follow verbal and written route directions
