The Department of Information Technology & Operations Management (ITOM) at the Adnan Kassar School of Business (AKSOB), Lebanese American University (LAU), invites applications for a Senior Instructor position in Information Technology Management.


Qualifications & Experience

Applicants must hold a graduate degree in Information Technology, Business, or a closely related field from an accredited, reputable university, with a background in Information Technology or Computer Science strongly preferred. Exceptional candidates with a Master’s degree (MSc/MBA) and a long record of academic leadership and instructional excellence will be considered. Candidates must have at least ten years of higher education experience, preferably in an accredited university setting, and a proven record of curriculum development and student mentorship at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The successful candidate should be qualified to teach core and advanced IT courses, including instruction focused on managing information system resources and using case studies and lectures to foster critical thinking in computer acquisition, information systems development, and the organizational development of end-user computing.

 

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Teach a variety of undergraduate courses in Information Technology, MIS, and related business-tech disciplines.
  • Provide active academic advising, mentor students, and lead departmental initiatives, experiential learning projects, and student competitions.
  • Deliver industry-relevant instruction with real-world cases, technological frameworks, and practical problem-solving.
  • Lead and contribute to ongoing curriculum design, program reviews, and strategic course updates to align with evolving technology trends, AACSB standards, and anticipated institutional expansions in graduate and executive education.
  • Help manage and grow existing and new programs by providing academic guidance, improving the curriculum, and offering strategic administrative support to advance the school’s vision for expanding advanced degrees.
  • Actively participate in departmental, school, and university committees to help shape plans for upcoming programs and learning initiatives.

The AKSOB is one of the oldest and most reputable business schools in the region, enrolling approximately 3,200 students in its undergraduate, graduate, executive, and professional programs on campus and online. It is AACSB-accredited and offers a BS in Business Studies with emphases in Information Technology Management, along with specialized graduate offerings.
