    Job Summary

    The Graphic Designer & Multimedia Specialist has responsibilities that include, but are not limited to, developing creative assets that support Lamar State College Port Arthur’s marketing, enrollment, branding, and communications initiatives. This position produces high-quality print and digital materials, photography, video, motion graphics, and social media content while ensuring compliance with institutional brand standards. This position reports to the Director of Marketing & Communications.

    Duties/Responsibilities

  • Design and produce print and digital marketing materials including brochures, advertisements, event materials, banners, signage, presentations, publications, and recruitment collateral
  • Create visual content for websites, social media, email marketing, digital advertising, and other institutional communications
  • Plan, capture, and edit photography and video highlighting students, faculty, programs, campus life, workforce training, and community partnerships
  • Produce promotional videos, interviews, testimonials, motion graphics, and short-form social media content
  • Maintain institutional graphic templates and ensure consistency with brand standards
  • Collaborate with campus departments to translate marketing objectives into compelling visual communications
  • Prepare files for commercial printing and digital distribution
  • Manage the college’s digital photo and video asset library
  • Assist with event coverage and special projects as assigned
  • Comply with campus policies and procedures
  • Other related duties, as assigned
  • Minimum/Preferred Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in Graphic Design, Digital Media, Visual Communications, Multimedia, Marketing, or a related field from a regionally accredited college or university
  • Three (3) years of professional experience in graphic design, multimedia production, or marketing communications for organizations
  • Demonstrated experience designing for both print and digital platforms, including photography, video production, and social media content for organizations
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects or equivalent software, and Canva
  • Valid driver’s license

  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in higher education, public sector, or nonprofit marketing
  • Experience developing creative assets for integrated marketing and enrollment campaigns
  • Experience with photography, lighting, audio production, and video storytelling.
  • Experience maintaining brand standards across multiple departments and communication
  • channels.Supplemental Information

  • Excellent visual design, typography, and layout skills
  • Strong photography, videography, and video editing abilities
  • Knowledge of print production processes and file preparation
  • Ability to develop creative concepts that align with institutional branding and marketing objectives
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Working knowledge of social media content creation and digital marketing best practices
  • Advanced proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud and Microsoft Office

  • Physical Requirements:
    This position requires employees to remain in a stationary position most of the time; move to various locations on campus; move about inside an office to access documents, office equipment, etc.; and operate a computer or other office equipment, such as a printer or copy machine.

    Travel:
    Frequent travel is required.

    Work Hours:
    Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week; some nights and weekends may be required depending on campus events.
