This is a Part-Time Instructor Pool in our Continuing Education Workforce Development (CEWD) department for available assignments during the academic year. This position is limited to no more than 19 hours per week. Applications are considered throughout the academic year and reviewed based on departmental needs. The instructor will teach a variety of Microsoft certificate courses and provide quality instruction in a safe environment to students in accordance with Alvin College policies and procedures. This position requires the individual to follow the current course outlines, objectives, evaluate student competencies and maintain safety procedures within the classroom. The instructor constantly evaluates their effectiveness in the classroom by helping students obtain course learning outcomes and the impact that they have on student retention. The ideal candidate will hold multiple industry certifications and have practical experience teaching adult learners in both corporate and academic settings. This role requires expertise in Microsoft 365 and other Microsoft certifications with a focus on workforce readiness and career advancement.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
WORK ENVIRONMENTThe incumbent typically will work online or a hybrid modality (virtual instruction).
PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe employee is regularly required to sit, talk, or hear; frequently required to use repetitive hand motion, handle or feel, and to stand, walk, reach, bend or lift up to twenty (20) pounds.
